First Date

A hilarious, contemporary take on the ritual of the First Date.

Still of couple eating from First Date

At THE WOMAN'S flat, a sumptuous course of raw prawns and a three bean salad has just been completed. As the wooing couple dine and the inevitable first kiss approaches, we hear their thoughts.

The two of them think that this is the night. And on the first date too.

THE MAN, the proverbial "ladies man" now seems to have found "THE special someone" for him. His manners are impeccable and his compliments perfect. Until the not-too-delicate raw prawns and 3 bean salad take effect and threaten to ruin the entire evening.

Chav Hunter in productionFor Stone Soup Ltd, Nottingham

A funny, action packed anthropological study of Chavs.

Our intrepid hunter searches the rural, not so rural and deepest, darkest city, risking life and limb, for the ultimate prize, the 'King Chav'.

Shot in and around the parks, streets and clubs of Nottingham, Chav Hunter is currently in the deepest darkest stages post production.

Graham focussing camera Snatching Time

Originally an entry for the Halloween 48 Hour Film Challenge 2005, "Snatching Time" was recently screened in the Short Film Corner at the 59th Cannes International Film Festival.

Oak Tree Films co-produced the film with Sick Puppy Films, led by Director/Editor Clive Ashenden.

This disturbing horror comedy sees BOB SNATCHER put his unwitting and helpless victims through his own bizarre and grotesque gameshow, "Snatching Time". Even though BOB has simply altered his basement into a shabby, kitsch TV studio, in his perverted mind, this is a real show, complete with catchphrases, music, an audience and a "glamorous assistant", ANTHEA.

Bound to chairs and under constant knifepoint, the "challenger", JANE LAMB, competes against the "reigning champion", DICK BACON. Tired, bloody and mentally tortured, both "contestants" must win at crude, cruel games - loosely based on TV gameshows of the 1980s and 1990s - to try and "snatch time" from their opponent's "Life Clock". When a contestant's "Life Clock" reaches zero, they are: "out of time!"

BOB's emotions switch from excitable with each mad game won to irritation at the continuing absence of ANTHEA. Full of dark humour, this disturbing story builds to a race against time for the winner - the only survivor of the two - to use the time won to escape.

Snatching Time was also one of the SHORTLISTED 20 FILMS for SCREENING IN THE IMAX CINEMA in London on Halloween (31st October) 2005.
