Turner's War
Oak Tree Films' S16mm, period drama is now in post-production.
Based on true events, "Turner's War" is a poignant story told by JOHN TURNER, a young soldier, from the trenches of Flanders during World War I.
Only a few months before the assassination of ARCHDUKE FRANZ FERDINAND in Sarajevo on June 28th 1914 - which sparked the events that then lead to the bloodiest war that Europe had ever known - FRANZ FERDINAND was nearly shot and killed during a pheasant shooting trip on the country estate of Welbeck in heart of England.
The
young man fooling around with a loaded shotgun was JOHN TURNER. JOHN had
counted himself lucky that day at Welbeck. Now, in the dank, inhospitable
trench, he finds himself wondering whether the accidental killing would
have prevented the Great War - 1914 to 1918.
