About the event

Oak Tree Films, the student-production company on behalf of Hezekiah Lewis' Social Justice Documentary class, traveled to Siaya, Kenya to film documentaries on women's empowerment and the Nina Special School of the Deaf. To bring Kenyan culture to Villanova's campus, Oak Tree Films is excited to be hosting a Cultural Experience to celebrate and appreciate Kenyan and East African culture. At this event, we will be providing traditional Kenyan food for dinner, offering entertainment from students from the students of Social Justice Documentary course, hosting a facilitated dialogue between Dr. Irene Awino and Dr. Hibba Abugideiri, and more.

The Oak Tree Films' Cultural Experience is a ticketed event. Tickets for the Villanova and greater community are $10 pre-sale and $12.50 at the door. To purchase tickets, please Venmo our Line-Producer, Mia Clingham (@miaclingham on Venmo). If you'd like to purchase a ticket with cash, we will be tabling throughout the week of April 23rd to sell tickets in person.
